Disable Themes in Windows XP
- Click on Start —> Control Panel —> Performance and Maintenance —> — Administrative Tools> Services
- In the Services window, find topics on the right side of the window.
- Double-click the dialog box to appear Themes Themes Properties (Local Computer)
- After that, click the Startup Type menu in the dropdown menu, then select Disabled
- Finally, click the Stop button located on the General tab and close the dialog box by clicking OK
